IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY - Please note seed is a live product which depends on many important related grower skills such as proper planting time, seed depth, and type of soil, watering, proper use of fertilizers, weed controls, fungicides, insecticides, disease free soil, and reasonable weather conditions during the growing period.  Germination is affected by such factors as temperature, moisture content, light intensity and contamination of planting media. Although we do everything possible to get seeds to you in the best possible condition far exceeding legal requirements and will provide as much help as possible, these factors are totally outside of our control and once you receive the seeds its over to you.  Consequently, we can take no responsibility for the suitability to your local conditions of any variety offered, the indicative cultivation advice provided or ultimately the varieties performance.  As such you should seek local advice to carefully ensure your local conditions and the time of season are appropriate to the variety purchased.

ASIAN SMOOTH POD [OB]

Red, white and purple  blooms, 4-5” across, tall plants that tend to lean with weight of the  many huge smooth egg shaped pods that are produced, a high alkaloid rich poppy.

Notes: This is another poppy that originated from Izmir Farm, it fits the description of their Asian O.B. down to the finest detail, and in my opinion this is the 'Izmir Asian O.B.' But this came in a seeds packet named Izmir Turkish Giants (gift), Their Turkish Giants had red and black flowers and large round pods, this plant doesn't.

2012 Seeds - 300+ seeds £3.50 / 1500+ seeds £4.50

NEARLY ALL GONE!

CHINA BLUE

A rare and fantastic poppy, 2.5 – 3 feet high, dark purple flowers with the odd white one thrown in, large thick squire pods, heavy yielding poppies, fast growing poppies, but like the Afghans and Indian poppies need to been in the ground early to do well, as they will bolt if sown too late in the summer.

SOLD OUT!

CHINA RED

I know nothing about the origin of this poppy other than its named China red, very strong fast growing plants to about 5-6 feet in height, late to flower, lots and lots of flowers, which are large red or pink with dark basal spots, medium sized round pods, which produce a fantastic about of seeds.
This poppy is a real show stopper!!!

SOLD OUT!

"ELKA/CRONE" [Breadseed/seed oil]

This variety is rare white seeded poppy has an intriguing story connected with it, in the mountainous area of Slovakia, people were unable to grow any nut trees to produce oil, and they bred this white-seeded poppy for the job. But eventually, when they had more trade with the outside world, they switched to using walnut oil and gave up growing the poppy; well all but one Crone named Elka living on a hill, this poppy seeds was saved and named after her. It is a beauty that will produce a nice amount of seed for you to use in the kitchen.
Its pods are smooth and medium sized, being bred for seed use I would have thought that the pods might not opened to let the seeds escape, some do and some don’t, so keep this in mind if you hang them upside down to dry. The flowers are the palest pinkish white or lavender white, although violet-flowered plants are a variant that will appear as a minority; there is great genetic diversity with this plant. Seeds are pure white through to orange-brown and have very high oil content; plants grow to 3-4 feet.

2012 Seeds - 300+ seeds £3.50 / 1500+ seeds £4.50

An Izmir special import from Tasmania, This is a supply of genuine Tasmanian poppy seed!! The plants grow between 3 to 4 feet and produce a light pink to almost white flower in about 60 days from germination. Each plant produces only one to three pods abundantly filled with seed. It has been hard to acquire this variety of Tasmanian poppy as the growers have been unwilling to sell or let any amount go, one of the best Taz poppies that I have grown.
